Driver seeks more than $50,000 from driver, The Hideout after auto accident

Car accident 21

BELLEVILLE – A Dupo woman has filed a suit against an allegedly intoxicated driver and the owner of The Hideout after she was involved in a collision.

Katrina O'Guinn filed a complaint on Oct. 16 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Anthony Duran-Lopez, Daniel Ruder and SD Tavern LLC, doing business as The Hideout, for alleged violation of Dram Shop Act and negligence.

According to the complaint, O'Guinn alleges that on Nov. 10, 2016, she was driving on Stolle Road in Dupo when defendant Duran-Lopez's vehicle entered her lane of traffic, causing a collision. The plaintiff claims defendant Duran-Lopez was under the influence of alcohol that he consumed at defendant's Ruder's bar The Hideout before the accident.

As a result, O'Guinn claims she suffered physical injuries and has incurred medical expenses for treatment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment of more than $50,000 for loss and damage, together with costs, and such other and further relief as the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Ely Hadowsky of Brown & Brown LLP in St. Louis.
