Passenger alleges injuries after St. Clair County crash

Car accident 17

BELLEVILLE – A St. Clair County woman alleges she was injured when the vehicle she was traveling in was rear-ended in the county.

Heather Winter filed a complaint on Oct. 11 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Robert Eckert alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Winter alleges that on April 14, 2016, she was passenger in a vehicle traveling on South Greenmount Road near the intersection of Gold Course Drive when the vehicle was struck in the rear by the defendant's vehicle. As a result, Winter claims she suffered physical injuries, lost wages and medical bills.

The plaintiff holds Eckert responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to reduce speed in order to avoid an accident, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to yield the right of way and failed to be attentive.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in an amount of more than $50,000, costs and for such further relief as the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Matthew P. Young of Kuehn, Beasley & Young PC in Belleville.
