BELLEVILLE – A Venice man alleges he was injured in an East St. Louis collision when another driver failed to stop at a traffic signal.
Britt Bradley filed a complaint on Sept. 28 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Curtis Fenton, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, Bradley alleges that in March 26, 2016, the vehicle in which he was passenger was struck at the intersection of 25th Street and St. Clair when the defendant's vehicle allegedly failed to stop at an electric signal.
As a result, Bradley claims he was thrown in, around and about the motor vehicle and injured.
The plaintiff alleges Centon failed to yield right-of-way; drove at a rate of speed that was high, excessive and dangerous under the prevailing circumstances and conditions; and failed to give any warning of approach.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in an amount of more than $25,000, plus court costs, pre- and post-judgment interest at the statutory rate, and further relief as the court deems just and proper.
He is represented by Todd R. Nissenholtz of Cofman Townsley LLC in St. Louis.
