Woman seeks more than $50,000 in damages after Glen Carbon crash

Car accident 34

EDWARDSVILLE – A Maryville driver is seeking damages after a collision in Glen Carbon.

Sandra Werths filed a complaint on Oct. 6 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jimmy Stout Sr. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 15, 2015, she was traveling on state Route 159 near the intersection with Junction Drive when the defendant attempted a left turn on to Junction Drive and entered her lane, causing a collision. As a result, Werths claims she suffered pain and suffering, lost wages and incurred medical, doctor and hospital bills.

The plaintiff holds Stout Sr. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep his eyes on the road in front of him, failed to yield while making a left-hand turn and failed to keep proper look out for others lawfully using the highway.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in amount of more than $50,000 plus costs of suit. She is represented by Allan L. Napp of Schrempf, Kelly & Napp LTD in Alton.
