EDWARDSVILLE – A Sprint wireless customer alleges she was provided with false statements when opening a new account.

Moriah Goggin filed a complaint on Oct. 6 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Sprint Corp. and Cody Holmes, alleging fraud.

According to the complaint, Goggins alleges that on Aug. 8, she went to the defendants' St. Peters, Mo. store to separate her cellphone from her family's account. She claims she was assisted by Holmes, a Sprint employee, who allegedly falsely told her that she could chose $300 worth of accessories for free as part of a promotion. She alleges she is being charged $26 per month for the accessories.

As a result, Goggins claims she became physically ill and sick over the scam and worries about her credit score if she has to walk away from the agreement.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants allegedly made false statements of material fact to induce her into executing a finance agreement that she otherwise would have not have purchased.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in an amount of more than $50,000 and for costs of action, including attorney's fees.

She is represented by Daniel F. Goggin in Greenville.
