EDWARDSVILLE – A motorist and her passenger allege a distracted driver caused a collision in Wood River.
Sara L. Yokley and Dianne Patton filed a complaint on Sept. 25 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Lael Justice, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on March 6, their vehicle was struck by Justice's vehicle while traveling in Wood River.
As a result, Yokley and Patton claim they suffered physical injuries, great pain and became obligated to medical expenses.
The plaintiffs allege Justice failed to keep a proper lookout for other vehicles, failed to apply brakes, failed to yield and drove while distracted.
The plaintiffs seek a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and whatever other remedy the court deems appropriate.
They are represented by Gregory M. Tobin of Pratt & Tobin PC in East Alton.
