Two seek damages over alleged injuries sustained in Alton crash

Car accident 32

EDWARDSVILLE – Two individuals allege that they were injured in an Alton collision caused by a negligent driver.

Mark Thomeczek and Tonya Cutright filed a complaint on Sept. 19 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jonathan L. Waters alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Sept. 20, 2016, while driving his motor vehicle, Thomeczek was struck by the defendant at West St. Louis Avenue in Alton.

As a result, Thomeczek and his passenger Cutright claim they suffered physical injuries and expended money for medical care and treatment.

The plaintiffs hold Waters responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout for other vehicles, failed to properly apply brakes and operated the vehicle at an excessive rate of speed.

The plaintiffs seek judgment in an amount of more than $50,000 to compensate for the damages sustained, plus costs of suit. They are represented by John H. Hustava in Collinsville.
