Motorcyclist seeks damages following Old Collinsville Road collision

Car accident 37

BELLEVILLE – A motorcyclist is seeking more than $50,000 after a collision with a pickup in Caseyville Township.

Stephen Ruger filed a complaint on Sept. 7 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Laura Cruse, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Ruger alleges that on Sept. 28, 2016, he was driving his motorcycle on Old Collinsville Road, near its intersection with Bethel Mine Road, when Cruse's truck violently collided with his motorcycle.

As a result, Ruger claims he suffered physical injuries, mental anguish and became responsible for medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Cruse failed to keep proper lookout ahead and to the side for other traffic on the roadway, failed to reduce speed and failed to turn her vehicle onto another street in such a manner as to keep her vehicle in the proper lane.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for a sum of more than $50,000 and for costs of suit.

He is represented by Philip P. Rice of Rice Law Offices LTD in Belleville.
