EDWARDSVILLE — A woman claims she was injured when a dog knocked her to the ground inside the Glen Carbon PetSmart.

Reba M. Woodsides, by Karla D. Kloss, her attorney, filed a complaint on June 20 in Madison County Circuit Court against PetSmart Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 21, 2016, she was at the Glen Carbon store when she was allegedly attacked by a dog accompanied by an unknown person. She claims she was knocked to the ground and sustained injuries to her right arm and right hip.

As a result, she alleges she suffered physical and mental pain and disfigurement and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges PetSmart failed to warn her that she could be attacked by animals inside the premises and failed to determine whether animals allowed into the store posed a safety threat to customers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in excess of $50,000 plus costs of this suit.

She is represented by Thomas E. Hildebrand of the Thomas E. Hildebrand Law Office in Granite City.
