Woman sues over 2015 collision in Hamel

Semi crash 07

EDWARDSVILLE — A Hillsboro woman is suing a farm and its employee following a collision in Hamel.

Hayley Ann Woodson filed a complaint on June 14 in Madison County Circuit Court against Grandview Farm RLLP and Dillon L. Willman, alleging Willman failed to exercise due care while operating his employers' vehicle to avoid harming others.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 25, 2015, the plaintiff was traveling westbound on Highway 140 near the ramp of Interstate 55 in Hamel when she was struck by a tractor trailer being driver by Willman. The defendant was allegedly driving the tractor-trailer while on the job for Grandview Farm.

As a result, Woodson claims she suffered physical injuries and disability that caused her to expend money for necessary medical care.

The plaintiff alleges Willman failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep the vehicle under proper control and failed to properly apply brakes.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in excess of $50,000 and for such other relief as the court deems just and proper.

She is represented by Michael R. Wesley of Law Office of Michael R. Wesley LLC in Wood River.
