Man alleges motorist caused multi-car crash in Cahokia

Car accident 40

BELLEVILLE — A driver is suing another motorist claiming she was responsible for a multiple-car collision in Cahokia in 2015.

Joe Morgan filed a complaint on May 11 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Jasmina Zametica, alleging that the defendant failed to operate her 1999 Chevrolet Suburban in a reasonably careful manner so as to avoid causing injury and damage to plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 25, 2015, he was driving westbound on Camp Jackson Road near the intersection of Cynthia Street when he came to a stop. He claims his 2002 Ford F-150 truck was struck in the rear by the defendant's vehicle, which caused his vehicle to strike the vehicle in front of him.

As a result, Morgan claims he suffered bodily injuries, incurred numerous medical bills and lost enjoyment of a normal life.

The plaintiff alleges Zametica operated her vehicle at a speed which was greater than reasonable and proper with regard to traffic condition and failed to keep a proper lookout for other vehicles on the road.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in an amount in excess of $50,000 for injuries and damages, for costs of suit incurred and for such other or further relief as the court deems just.

He is represented by Ryan J. Mahoney of Cates Mahoney LLC in Swansea.
