BELLEVILLE — A Troy woman is suing a motorist over a January car accident in Fairview Heights
Machell Croyle filed a complaint on May 8 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Justin Davis alleging that the defendant failed to use care and caution while operating his vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, on Jan. 21, she was driving south on North Illinois on the Interstate 64 overpass when her vehicle was hit in the rear by the defendant's vehicle, causing plaintiff's vehicle to strike the automobile in front of her. As a result, Croyle suffered physical injuries and incurred medical, doctor and hospital bills.
The plaintiff holds Davis responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep proper lookout for other vehicles, failed to exercise proper control over the vehicle, failed to apply brakes and drove in an inattentive fashion.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs of suit and any other further relief to which the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Lanny Darr of Darr Law Offices Ltd. in Alton.
