BELLEVILLE — A driver is suing three other motorists, alleging that their negligence led to a multiple-car crash.
Myla Oliver-Blandford filed a complaint on May 5 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Elvera Burns, Lashonda Wilson and Pamela Campbell alleging that the defendants failed to operate their vehicles in a reasonably safe manner.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, on July 15, 2015, she was driving in a westerly direction along Illinois State Route 15 near its intersection with De Mazenod Drive in Belleville when she collided with the defendant Burns' vehicle, thereby causing multiple collisions with defendants Wilson and Campbell. As a result, Oliver-Blandford claims she suffered physical injuries, great pain and expenses for hospitalization.
The plaintiff holds the three defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to keep their vehicles under proper control, failed to reduce speed and failed to operate the vehicles on the correct side of the roadway.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in a sum in excess of $50,000, plus costs of suit and any other further relief to which the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Richard G. Reed and Earl W. Hubbs of Reed and Bruhn PC in Belleville.
