Woman claims driver ran over her feet outside Cahokia Shop 'n Save

BELLEVILLE — A pedestrian is suing a motorist for allegedly running over her feet as she exited the Cahokia Shop 'n Save.

Patricia Harris filed a complaint on April 25 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Larry Pierson, alleging he failed to keep his vehicle under proper control.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 2, 2016, she exiting the Shop 'n Save store on Camp Jackson Road in Cahokia when the Pierson allegedly drove over her feet. 

The plaintiff claims she suffered injuries to her feet and ankles, resulting in pain and suffering and medical expenses.

Harris alleges Pierson failed to maintain careful lookout and to yield right of way.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs expended for this suit. 

She is represented by Chet A. Kelly of Foley & Kelly LLC in Belleville.
