BELLEVILLE — A locomotive engineer claims a driver hired to transport employees injured him by shutting a door on his head.

Daniel O'Brian filed a complaint on April 25 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Professional Transportation Inc. or PTI, and CSX Transportation Inc., alleging PTI failed to exercise reasonable care in hiring, training and supervising its unnamed driver.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 26, 2015, he was injured when the driver of the van who was tasked with transporting him, recklessly slammed the rear door of the cargo van onto his head.

As a result, the plaintiff claims he suffered traumatic brain injuries, psychological and emotional harm and permanent injuries to his head and neck.

The plaintiff alleges CSX failed to provide safe transportation for its employees through contractor Professional Transportation.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against each defendant in excess of $50,000, plus costs of this suit.

He is represented by Ryan E. Brennan of The Brennan Law Firm PC in Belleville.
