Motorist sues over Cahokia collision

Car accident 22

BELLEVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly running a stop sign.

Ferril W. Parker filed a complaint on April 19 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Daniel I. McCall alleging that he failed in his duty to operate his vehicle in a safe manner while driving in a public roadway in order to avoid causing injuries to others.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 19, 2015, he was driving a Hertz-rented pickup truck in a northerly direction on Paris Avenue at its intersection with Doris Avenue in Cahokia when the defendant collided with his vehicle.

As a result, Parker claims he suffered physical injuries and mental anguish and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges McCall failed to stop at a stop sign, failed to keep his automobile under proper control and failed to keep proper lookout for other automobiles on the roadway.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for a sum in excess of $50,000, and for his costs of suit and any other further relief as the court deems just and proper.

He is represented by Philip R. Rice of Rice Law Offices LTD in Belleville.
