Car accident 19

BELLEVILLE — A woman claims she suffered injuries stemming from a Cahokia parking-lot collision in 2015.

Yolanda Hawkins filed a complaint on March 30 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Meloni Hughes and Kiddy Kamp Academy Ltd., alleging Hughes failed to maintain proper control of the vehicle owned by defendant Kiddy Kamp.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 18, 2015, she parked her vehicle in a parking space at 1882 Jerome Lane in Cahokia when Hughes negligently struck the rear of her vehicle with her GMC van.

Hawkins claims she sustained injuries that resulted in pain and suffering, disability, medical expenses and loss of normal life.

She alleges Hughes failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to stop and/or reduce speed to avoid collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs of this suit.

She is represented by Kevin Boyne of Kevin Boyne PC in Belleville.
