EDWARDSVILLE — The 2017 M.I.C. Summit, hosted by Madison County Community Development on April 6 and 7, is focusing on job creation, job retention, infrastructure, technology and transportation.
Specifically, the summit will help Madison County best form a plan to take advantage of the economic developments that are coming out of Washington, D.C., and how to best use them to help the communities within Madison County.
The Model Leadership Through Service Awards will be presented on the second day of the event. The three categories that recipients can be awarded under are individual, organization and business. The 2017 Individual Award will go to AJ Ciccarelli. The 2017 Organization Award will be going to Riverbend Family Ministries, and the 2017 Business Award will be going to First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust.
Speakers at the event will include U.S. Congressman John Shimkus, former U.S. Congressman Glenn Poshard, Illinois State Treasurer Mike Frerichs and local businesspeople.
The event is being held at Lewis & Clark Community College at the N.O. Nelson Campus in Edwardsville.
