Slip01

EDWARDSVILLE — A man claims he was injured when he slipped on a puddle of water on a greasy floor at the Pontoon Beach Denny's restaurant.

Steven D. Freese filed a complaint on March 24 in the Madison County Circuit Court against The Road Inc., doing business as Denny's, and WKS Restaurant Corporation, alleging they failed to exercise reasonable care to keep the premises safe.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 28, 2015, he was a customer at the Denny's restaurant in Pontoon Beach when he slipped and fell in a puddle of water on a greasy floor.

He claims he suffered severe injuries which caused him to incur medical expenses and lose income.

Freese alleges the defendants negligently caused and permitted a dangerous and unsafe condition to exist on the property and failed to provide adequate warnings necessary to prevent injuries.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in a sum exceeding $50,000 plus costs of this action.

He is represented by Gregory Tobin of Pratt & Tobin PC in East Alton.
