EAST ST. LOUIS — A New Baden woman is suing Equifax Information Services LLC, TransUnion LLC, Experian Information Solutions Inc. and First Progress Card, citing alleged inaccurate and misleading reporting of credit.
Sheri Ann Graham filed a complaint on Feb. 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois alleging that the defendants willfully and/or negligently violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, as a result defendants' unlawful actions, she has suffered out-of-pocket expenses, inability to obtain credit upon favorable terms, payment of increased costs of credit and insurance, emotional distress and severe anxiety. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to follow reasonable procedures, failed to conduct reasonable reinvestigations of plaintiff's information and failed to appropriately modify, delete and/or block the inaccurate information.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual, statutory and punitive damages, attorney’s fees and costs and such other relief as the court deems proper. She is represented by Travis W. Cohron of Barker Hancock & Cohron in Noblesville, Indiana.
