Contract 10

BELLEVILLE — A Freeburg engineering consultant is suing a construction company for allegedly failing to pay for completed work.

Rhutasel and Associates Inc. filed a complaint on March 3 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Meise Brothers Construction Inc. of Swansea, alleging the defendant failed to comply with a legal and binding contract agreement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 23, 2005, it entered into a contract agreement with Meise Brothers in which the company would provide professional engineering services to the defendant. The plaintiff claims it has complied with all the terms of the contract but did not receive payment after repeated attempts, the suit says.

The plaintiff alleges Meise Brothers failed and refused to pay for the services acquired amounting to $62,804.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in the amount of $62,804 plus interest, attorney fees, costs of suit and any other further relief the court deems just.

The plaintiff is represented by Van-Lear P. Eckert of Law Office of Van-Lear P. Eckert PC in Belleville.
