Driver says Route 15 accident caused by speed factors and negligence

Car accident 22

BELLEVILLE — A motorist is suing Nicole Stolte-Sanchez, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries for a car crash on Route 15 in May 2016.

Barbara L. Runzo filed a complaint on Feb. 21 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Nicole Stolte-Sanchez alleging that the defendant failed her duty to operate her vehicle properly on a public road.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 23, 2016, while driving westbound on Route 15, plaintiff's vehicle was struck from the rear by a vehicle operated by the defendant. As a result, Runzo claims she suffered physical injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder and incurred medical expenses. The plaintiff holds Stolte-Sanchez responsible because she allegedly operated her vehicle at an excessive rate of speed, failed to keep a careful lookout, failed to keep a safe distance from the rear of plaintiff's vehicle and failed to use the highest degree of care under the circumstances.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in an amount in excess of $50,000, exclusive of interest and costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and for whatever further relief the court deems just. She is represented by Robert J. Radice of Horas, Radice and Associates LLC in St. Louis.
