BELLEVILLE — A Dupo man is suing Custom Steel Processing Inc. after he allegedly twisted his ankle on an uneven floor.
Shawn Quinn filed a complaint on Feb. 2 in St. Clair County Circuit Court alleging the defendant failed to keep its premises free from defect.
According to the complaint, Quinn alleges that on Oct. 13, 2015, while exiting his vehicle, he stepped down onto the floor of the defendant's premises while exiting his vehicle. Due to uneven portions of the floor, he claims he twisted his left ankle fell.
As a result, Quinn claims he suffered physical injuries, loss of earnings and incurred medical expenses.
The plaintiff alleges Custom Steel failed to warn plaintiff of the dangerous condition of the floor, failed to repair the floor within a reasonable time and failed to place flags, cones or signs around the uneven floor.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in an amount in excess of $50,000 plus costs of this suit and for any other further relief the court deems just.
