Car accident 03

EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a rear-end collision.

Daniel Fuller filed a complaint on March 9, in the Madison County Circuit Court against Melissa Schmacker, alleging she failed to operate her automobile with due care for the safety of others.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 10, 2015, he was driving his vehicle southbound on the 2100 block of Vandalia when the rear of his vehicle was struck by the defendant's 2006 Chrysler Sebring, who was traveling directly behind him.

As a result, Fuller claims he suffered physical injuries, loss of income and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to reduce speed to avoid an accident, drove at an excessive speed and failed to keep proper lookout.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for an amount in excess of $50,000, plus costs and for any other relief this court deems just and proper.
