BELLEVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a collision.
William Stellhorn filed a complaint on Feb. 17 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Barbara Speiser, alleging she failed to exercise ordinary care and caution while operating her vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 22, 2015, he was operating his motor vehicle southbound on North Douglas Avenue when he collided with the defendant's vehicle.
As a result, Stellhorn claims he suffered physical injuries, lost wages and incurred medical expenses.
The plaintiff alleges Speiser failed to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failed to yield other traffic lawfully in the intersection and failed to obey a posted stop sign at the intersection.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in a sum in excess of $50,000 plus costs of this suit and all other relief the court deems just and proper.
He is represented by Gregory L. Shevlin of Cook, Ysura, Bartholomew, Brauer and Shevlin, LTD. in Belleville.
