EDWARDSVILLE — A driver is suing another motorist for allegedly causing a rear-end collision.
David Funkhouser filed a complaint on Feb. 3 in Madison County Circuit Court against Bobbi File, alleging she failed to drive her vehicle in a safe manner.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 27, 2016, he was operating his motor vehicle on Pontoon Road where it intersects with Breckenridge Lane when the defendant allegedly drove into the rear of his vehicle.
As a result, the plaintiff claims he suffered physical injuries and loss of earnings and expended money for medical care.
The plaintiff alleges File failed to keep a proper lookout for other vehicles, failed to properly apply her brakes and operated her vehicle at an excessive rate of speed.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in excess of $50,000 to fairly and reasonably compensate him for his damages, plus costs of this suit.
