BELLEVILLE — A family claims their father died after being struck by a vehicle while walking along Illinois Route 161.
Veronica Gray, as special administrator of the estate of Keith Gray, deceased, on behalf of minor children Keijah Gray, Jailah Gray and Keizyah Gray, filed a complaint on Dec. 20, in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Lonnie Davidson, alleging the motorist breached his duty of care owed to decedent.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 1, 2016, decedent Keith Gray was a pedestrian walking along the area of Illinois Route 161 near its intersection with Frank Scott Parkway. The plaintiff alleges the defendant was driving a motor vehicle and negligently collided with the decedent, causing him to sustain fatal injuries that resulted in his death.
The minor children suffered great loss of companionship and society of their father, as well as grief, sorrow and mental anguish.
The plaintiff alleges Davidson failed to keep careful lookout and carelessly drove his vehicle at a speed greater than reasonable.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment on behalf of the minor children in an amount exceeding $50,000.
