BELLEVILLE — A former gym member claims he was injured when he slipped on a diving board at Kings Point Sports Club.
Matthew Bates filed a complaint on Dec. 19, in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Kings Point Investment Group LLC, doing business as Kings Point Sports Club, alleging the fitness club operator breached its duty to manage and maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 30, 2010, he was lawfully at Kings Point. He was attempting to use the diving board when he allegedly slipped and fell, causing him to sustain serious injuries. He was a minor at the time of the accident.
Bates alleges Kings Point failed to take precautions to warn others of the existence of the dangerous condition.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment on his behalf in an amount in excess of $50,000, plus costs of this suit.
