BELLEVILLE — A motorist claims he was injured in a Cahokia collision.
William Brown filed a complaint on Dec. 15, in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Dmarcus Singleton and Cierra Johnson, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 23, 2014, he was driving a vehicle westbound on Pontiac near its intersection with Paris in Cahokia when Singleton, who was operating a vehicle owned by Johnson, negligently collided with his vehicle.
As a result, Brown claims he sustained injuries that caused him to suffer physical pain and mental anguish.
The plaintiff alleges Singleton failed to yield, failed to stop or swerve his vehicle to avoid collision and failed to maintain careful lookout. He also alleges Johnson breached her duty to entrust the operation of her vehicle to a person with reasonable care for the safety of others.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against each defendant in excess of $50,000, plus costs of this suit.
He is represented by Kenneth B. Beljanski of Brown & Brown LLP in Fairview Heights.
