East St. Louis Housing Authority accused of breaching contract

BELLEVILLE — A consulting firm is suing East St. Louis Housing Authority for allegedly failing to make payments.

Community Development Consultants filed a complaint on Dec. 10 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against East St. Louis Housing Authority, alleging the housing authority failed to perform its contractual obligations.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between Oct. 7, 2010, and February 2015, it has performed work and rendered services to the defendant amounting to $1,761,459.80 in value, and that the balance amount of $45,531.20 remains due and owing.

The plaintiff alleges East St. Louis Housing Authority failed to make payments for the remaining account balance.

Community Development requests a trial by jury and damages against the defendant, plus all other relief the court deems just.

The plaintiff is represented by Edward J. Blake Jr. of Blake Behme Law Group PC in Belleville.
