Man sues motorist, vehicle owner following wife's death

EDWARDSVILLE — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate is suing over a fatal accident.

Bernard Hicks, special administrator of the estate of his deceased wife, Aleatha Wallace, and as father and next friend of minors Brenae Hicks and Brandi Hicks, filed a complaint on Dec. 13 in Madison County Circuit Court against defendants Adam D. King of Collinsville and Cheapies #2 LLC of Collinsville, alleging King failed to properly control a vehicle entrusted to him by vehicle owner Cheapies #2 LLC.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 22, a collision involving two vehicles resulted in the death of Aleatha Wallace and injuries to Brenae Hicks and Brandi Hicks.

The plaintiff alleges Cheapies entrusted its vehicle to King, who allegedly was negligent in its operation.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $50,000 plus court costs and any further relief this court grants.

He is represented by Jeffrey S. Deutschman of Deutschman & Associates, P.C. in Chicago.
