Mother blames two motorists for child's injuries

EDWARDSVILLE — The mother of a minor child is suing motorists, citing alleged negligence in connection with a traffic collision.

Angel Meyers, as mother and next friend of Dacota Meyers, filed a complaint on Dec. 16 in Madison County Circuit Court against Will Carpenter and Jake Simpson, alleging that they failed to properly control their motor vehicles.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, on Sept. 11, 2015, Dacota Meyers suffered serious physical injuries when she was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Carpenter, which slammed into a vehicle driven by Simpson. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible, alleging that they failed to operate their vehicles in a safe manner.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Brian M. Wendler and Angie M. ZInzilieta of Wendler & Law, P.C. in Edwardsville.
