Motorist claims semi driver's negligence caused injuries in Clinton County crash

BELLEVILLE – A motorist claims he was injured after colliding with a semitruck in Clinton County.

Bruce J. Anderson filed a complaint on Oct. 31 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Nickolas A. Snider and Beelman Truck Co. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 13, 2015, he was operating a 2000 Ford F150 northbound on Germantown Road near its intersection with Weselin Road in Clinton County when defendant Snider caused a semitruck, owned by defendant Beelman, to collide with plaintiff's vehicle. The plaintiff alleges he sustained serious injuries that caused him to suffer pain and anguish, lost wages and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Snider and Beelman Truck Co. responsible because Snider allegedly failed give audible warning using his horn, failed to signal his intent to turn, failed to maintain proper lookout and failed to stop the vehicle when in danger.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against each defendant in an amount of more than $50,000, plus costs of this suit. He is represented by Mark C. Scoggins, Clay B. St. Clair and Anthony P. Gilbreth of Crowder & Scoggins LTD in Columbia.
