Driver alleges injuries after accident at intersection in Caseyville

Car accident 28

BELLEVILLE – A driver has filed suit against a Belleville man after an accident in Caseyville.

Daniel A. Amsbury filed a complaint on Oct. 31 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Thomas F. Honerkamp alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 19, 2014, he was operating a motor vehicle owned by his employer and was stopped at the intersection of Rauckman Lane and Illinois Route 157. He alleges the defendant, who was traveling in the same lane of traffic behind plaintiff's vehicle, collided with the rear of his vehicle. As a result, he alleges he sustained injuries to his head, neck and low back requiring medical care and treatment. The plaintiff holds Honerkamp responsible because the defendant allegedly operated his vehicle too fast for the conditions, failed to stop the vehicle to avoid collision and failed to maintain a careful lookout.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation in a fair and reasonable amount of $50,000, plus costs of this suit. He is represented by William A. Berry of William Berry & Associates LLC in Collinsville.
