EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist is suing Werner Enterprises and one if its employees for allegedly causing an accident.

Steven J. Wilson filed a complaint on Nov. 4 in Madison County Circuit Court against Werner Enterprises Inc. and Joseph Davis, alleging Davis breached his duty to exercise reasonable care in the operation of a motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 6, 2014, he was driving eastbound on Interstate 270 near Milepost 2.5 in Chouteau Township when Davis, acting as an agent of Werner, drove into the rear of his vehicle.

As a result of the collision, the plaintiff sustained injuries resulting in pain and suffering, disability, loss of income and medical expenses, the suit says.

The plaintiff alleges Davis followed too closely, failed to maintain control and failed to keep proper lookout.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court. He is represented by Albert J. Salvi of Salvi & Maher LLC in Waukegan.
