Shopper sues Wal-Mart over slip and fall

Slip01

A man claims he was injured when he slipped and fell at the Collinsville Wal-Mart.

Randall Faulkner, Jr. filed a complaint on Nov. 7, in the Madison County Circuit Court against Wal-Mart Stores Inc., alleging the supercenter operator failed to exercise ordinary care to make its premises reasonably safe.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, on Nov. 17, 2015, he was inside the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Collinsville when he slipped and fell in the lawn and garden area, causing him to sustain injuries to his body.

He claims he has suffered and will continue to suffer pain and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Wal-Mart negligently allowed and permitted the dangerous condition to remain on the premises.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for damages in an amount not to exceed $75,000, plus costs of this suit and such other and further relief as may be just and proper.

He is represented by R. Scott Pecher and Brian D. Klar of Klar, Izsak & Stenger LLC in St. Louis.
