Former Scott Credit Union employee accused of fraud

BELLEVILLE — Members of Scott Credit Union are suing the credit union and its former employee Theodore Longust, citing alleged misapplication of funds.

Bi State Property Group LLC, Hubbard Investments, Dave Morillo, P2 Enterprises LLC, Physicians Choice Development LLC and Real Deal LLC filed a complaint on Oct. 24 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging they violated the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege they suffered damage to their reputation and are now personal guarantors for millions of dollars in fraudulent lines of credit. They have also been damaged in their ability to borrow and to enter into a new business ventures, they allege.

The plaintiffs allege Longust opened unsecured lines of credits in the plaintiffs' names without authorization and falsified documents in order to extend the plaintiffs' credit line. They allege Scott Credit Union failed to obtain the personal liability and guarantee of principals of the borrowers.

Longust is being sued by several other plaintiffs in separate suits for similar claims.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against each defendant in an amount in excess of $50,000, attorney's fees and costs. They are represented by Grey Chatham, Jr. of Chatham & Baricevic in Belleville.
