Woman blames Casino Queen for injuries in trip and fall

BELLEVILLE — A customer claims she was injured when she tripped and fell at Casino Queen.

Toni Whittaker filed a complaint on Oct. 24 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Casino Queen Inc. alleging that the casino operator failed to properly design a walkway for customers.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on or about Oct. 28, she was a guest at Casino Queen and was injured when she tripped and fell due to uneven landscaping.

She claims her injuries caused her to suffer physical and mental pain, disability and loss of normal life and required the expenditure of money for medical care and treatment.

The plaintiff alleges Casino Queen Inc. failed to provide a safe means of egress, failed to properly design a safe walkway and failed to provide an even walkway.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation in excess of $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by Williamson, Webster, Falb & Glisson in Alton.
