Schoeck Land Trust alleges former tenants damaged property

BELLEVILLE — Property owners are suing tenant The Red Onion East and its  guarantors for allegedly causing more than $90,000 in property damage.

The Schoeck Land Trust and trustee Dennis Jacknewitz filed a complaint on Oct. 24 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against The Red Onion East Inc., and guarantors Larry Darnell and Julie Darnell, alleging they violated the terms of a lease agreement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege they suffered property damages in an amount of not less than $90,493. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for the alleged damage.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the corporate defendant in excess of $50,000 and against the guarantors for more than $50,000, plus costs of this suit and reasonable attorney's fees. They are represented by Eric M. Rhein of Eric M. Rhein, Attorney at Law in Belleville.
