Woman alleges driver caused rear-end collision

Car accident 41

BELLEVILLE — A driver is suing fellow motorist for allegedly causing a rear-end collision.

Deborah Pursifull filed a complaint on Oct. 21 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Patricia Deets, alleging the motorist breached her duty to exercise ordinary care for the safety of others on the road.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 27, she was operating a 2006 Honda Odyssey in an eastbound direction on Frank Scott Parkway in Fairview Heights when the defendant's vehicle struck the rear of her vehicle, causing her to sustain injuries.

The plaintiff claims she suffered disability, pain and suffering, medical expenses and loss of a normal life.

The plaintiff alleges Deets operated her vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, failed to keep careful lookout and failed to maintain a safe distance between their vehicles.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs of this suit. She is represented by Kevin Boyne of Kevin Boyne PC in Belleville.
