Collinsville residents claim they were injured in Fairview Heights accident

Car accident 25

BELLEVILLE – Two Collinsville residents allege a Missouri driver's actions caused them injuries in an accident in Fairview Heights.

Marilyn Richey and Gail Bryant filed a complaint on Oct. 17 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Tommy L. Oplt alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Oct. 16, 2015, plaintiff Richey was operating a 2012 Mercedes with plaintiff Bryant in the northbound direction of North Illinois Street approaching its intersection with Smokey Bones in Fairview Heights when defendant struck the rear of their vehicle.

They allege they were caused to suffer injuries that resulted in pain, mental anguish and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiffs hold Oplt responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to reduce speed and/or stop the vehicle to avoid collision and followed the vehicle in front of him more closely.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant in an amount reasonable and equitable, plus costs of this suit. They are represented by Alvin C. Paulson in Belleville.
