Driver alleges injures in collision with FedEx employee

Car accident 26

BELLEVILLE – A delivery service and its employee are accused of negligence after an accident in Caseyville.

Julie Ackerman filed a complaint on Oct. 17 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Federal Express Corp. and Grant J. McTeer alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 13, 2015, she was driving a motor vehicle when FedEx's employee McTeer negligently collided with plaintiff's vehicle in Caseyville.

As a result thereof, she alleges she sustained injuries that resulted in physical and mental pain, disability, increased risk of future injuries and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Federal Express Corp. and McTeer responsible because defendant McTeer allegedly failed to timely apply brakes and/or swerve to avoid collision and failed to maintain careful lookout.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against each defendant in a reasonable sum of more than $50,000, plus costs of this suit and any additional relief that the court deems proper. She is represented by J. Michael Weilmuenster of Weilmuenster & Keck PC in Belleville.
