By Michael Abella | Nov 14, 2016

BELLEVILLE – A woman alleges she was injured when a shower stool she was using collapsed.

Helen Miles and Wayne Miles filed a complaint on Oct. 11 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Signature Hardware alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on May 31, Helen Miles was injured when the shower stool she bought from defendant Signature Hardware collapsed.

She claims she sustained injuries and damages that resulted in medical-related expenses, lost wages, physical pain and mental anguish.

Wayne Miles alleges he suffered loss of consortium.

The plaintiffs holds Signature Hardware responsible because the defendants allegedly negligently sold a product that was defective and in an unreasonably dangerous condition.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant for damages of more than $75,000 for each plaintiff and costs. They are represented by Thomas O. Keefe Jr. of Keefe, Keefe & Unsell PC in Belleville.
