Man sues motorist over car accident

Car accident 21

BELLEVILLE — A man is suing another motorist for allegedly causing a collision.

Royce McCain filed a complaint on Oct. 5 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against David Martin, alleging the motorist negligently failed to operate his vehicle with reasonable care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 17, 2015, he was lawfully operating his motor vehicle when the defendant negligently collided with his vehicle, causing him serious and permanent injuries that resulted in pain and suffering, lost wages and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to maintain a careful lookout, operated his vehicle while using a cellphone and followed too closely.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in a fair and reasonable amount in excess of the court's minimum threshold and for fair and reasonable relief to compensate him for his damages. He is represented by Patrick Hinrichs of The Bradley Law Firm in St. Louis.
