BELLEVILLE — An automobile insurer is suing a St. Clair County resident, alleging negligence in connection with a collision.
Geico Insurance Co. filed a complaint on Oct. 26 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Calvin Grant, alleging that the St. Clair County resident operated his vehicle in a reckless and unlawful manner.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it had to pay out $136,500 for bodily injury suffered by its insured, Willis Suggs, and $9,288.52 for repairs to Suggs' vehicle.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant negligently operated his vehicle at a speed too fast for the conditions, failed to maintain proper lookout and failed to timely stop or swerve his vehicle to avoid colliding with Suggs' vehicle.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in the total amount of $146,497.87, plus interest, costs of this suit and such further relief as the court deems just and proper. It is represented by Marc Gnade of Law Office of Marc Gnade in Fenton, Missouri.
