BELLEVILLE – A woman is seeking damages after an accident near Mascoutah Avenue.

Leola Robinson filed a complaint on Sept. 7 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Jorge U. Gonzalez-Alvarez alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 23, she was the owner and operator of a vehicle traveling in an eastbound direction on South Bell East near its intersection with Mascoutah Avenue. At the same time and place, the suit states the defendant was traveling on Mascoutah Avenue and struck plaintiff's vehicle.

As a result, Robinson alleges she sustained serious injuries resulting in great pain and suffering, medical and hospital bills and mental anguish.

The plaintiff alleges Gonzalez-Alvarez failed to maintain proper control of his vehicle, operated his vehicle at a speed greater than normal and failed to stop at a stop sign at a four-way stop.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for damages in an amount of more than $50,000, plus costs of this suit. She is represented by Steven A. Katzman of Katzman & Sugden LLC in Belleville.
