BELLEVILLE – A driver alleges another motorist's lane change in East Saint Louis Township caused a collision.
Christopher C. Welmon filed a complaint on Sept. 6 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Brandon T. Delage alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 9, 2014, he was lawfully operating his own Dodge truck along Interstate 64 when the defendant negligently collided with the front end of his vehicle during a lane change, thereby causing plaintiff's vehicle to be sent off the roadway and to collide with a concrete barrier. The plaintiff alleges the incident caused him to suffer property damage and severe injuries. The plaintiff holds Delage responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly reduce speed, failed to maintain proper control of his vehicle and failed to keep a careful lookout.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for damages of more than $50,000 and for costs of this suit. He is represented by Adam W. Bragee of Beatty & Motil in Glen Carbon.
