BELLEVILLE — A motorist and passenger are suing driver Jeanna Fike, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.
Motorist Mathias McClendon and passenger Crystal McClendon filed a complaint on Sept. 26 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Jeanna Fike alleging that the woman failed to maintain proper control of her vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Sept. 18, Mathias McClendon was operating a motor vehicle with plaintiff Crystal McClendon and was traveling westbound on Green Mount Crossing when the defendant struck the rear of their vehicle and caused them to sustain injuries resulting in pain and suffering, loss of wages and medical expenses. The plaintiffs holds Fike responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout, followed their vehicle too closely and operated her vehicle at an excessive rate of speed.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant for a fair and just award in excess of $50,000 for each plaintiff, plus costs of this suit. They are represented by Thomas C. Rich, Kristina D. Cooksey and Michelle M. Rich of Rich, Rich & Cooksey PC in Fairview Heights.
