BELLEVILLE — A former employee is suing St. Elizabeth Hospital of the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis for alleged discrimination and wrongful termination.
Annice Eaves filed a complaint on Sept. 19 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against St. Elizabeth Hospital of the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, alleging that the health care provider violated the Illinois Human Rights Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 27, 2015, she was terminated from employment because of her age and physical disability.
As a result, she claims she has suffered and will continue to suffer loss of employment, salary and bonuses and benefits, and has suffered emotional distress and loss of enjoyment of life, she claims.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant subjected her to unlawful discrimination in terms of conditions and privileges of employment.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for damages in an amount exceeding $50,000, costs of suit and for all other relief that is just and equitable. She is represented by Matthew P. Young of Kuehn, Beaseley & Young PC in Belleville.
