Slip01

BELLEVILLE — A customer is suing Military Produce Group LLC, a fresh produce provider at Scott Air Force Base, after she allegedly fell and injured herself.

Redella B. McCants filed a complaint on Sept. 13 in St. Clair County Circuit Court alleging that the defendant failed to exercise due care for the safety of other persons.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 6, 2015, she was walking into the Scott Air Force Base Commissary to buy some goods when she tripped and fell, causing her to sustain injuries to her body and suffer physical and mental pain, medical expenses and loss of enjoyment of life.

The plaintiff alleges Military Produce Group negligently left a water hose unattended and failed to provide warnings of the tripping hazard.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for an amount exceeding $50,000, plus court costs and for such other relief as the court finds proper. She is represented by Robert C. Nelson of Nelson & Nelson, Attorney at Law PC in Belleville.
